Mortality, Indicators, Latin AmericaAbstract
Mortality and life expectancy are very important indicatorsof health aspects in a population; however, they could alsobe used as proxies to economic variables such as GDP pc,PPP and gender inequality (social). We will try to show theapplication of Sen’s Method (1998) to Latin America and, ina small proportion, to Argentina.
Finally, we would demonstrate the existence of acorrelation between economic-social section variables and lifeexpectancy at birth, corroborating the existing global theory.
