This paper makes a brief history of those considered “fathers” and “pioneers” of the special branch of the medecin called Surgery: Plastic-Cosmetic-Reconstructive, depending on their objectives.
This surgery may seem very updated because of the achieved progress in surgical techniques, in instrumentation and current tools and materials nevertheless its beginnings are lost in the mists of time.
Surgical interventions are not only about enhancement, improvement to get beauty, decrease age but often are surgeries to “repair the soul” as a necessity to enhance the interaction between people.
