Abstract

“Newroads for UniversityMuseums”wasthenameproposed for the round of reflections carried out within the Sixth International Conference of University Museums of UMAC and the annual conference of ICOM México, held at the Federal District, in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), September 25-29, 2006.

Invited as a speaker, I submitted a work that described the current activities and projects of the Historical Museum of the Hospital Nacional de Clínicas. I also invested the representation of the Sub-program of Museums and Science Centers of the Program for the Popularization of Science, Technology and Art of the National University of Córdoba (SECYT).

This conference was a useful undertaking that should be imitated, since University Museums face multiple challenges in all countries.

A brief comment is made on the works submitted by the Health Sciences Museums and the Museum of the History of Medicine of UNAM.
