March 2011, Supplement. This special issue contains the proceedings of the 2011 Latin American Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (LASBRA) Meeting. The general aim of the meeting is to serve as a regional forum for Latin-American researchers and graduate students interested in the neuroscience of alcohol use disorders (AUD, abuse and dependence). LASBRA is the Latin American affiliated society of ISBRA (International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism). LASBRA aims at promoting the research in all areas related to alcohol use, abuse and dependence, ranging from basic research to treatment and epidemiological studies. LASBRA was founded in 1993 during a symposium supported by NIAAA and ISBRA, in Bethesda, MD, USA.
