Abstract

In this paper, the career path of a group of individuals who graduated in Biological Sciencesfrom a public university in Brazil was investigated, with the objective of identifying the convergencesand divergences between theory (training process) and the execution of the internship. In the study, we favored the qualitative approach with the application of semi-structured questionnairesin two groups. The results have shown that there is consistency in relation to the descriptionof the course of the internship in its different stages, the positive side of the internshipand the disappointment of the curricular component. Based on the discussions and the analysisof the data obtained, it can be concluded that Mandatory Supervised Internships constitute oneof the essential steps that are necessary for undergraduate students to immerse themselves intheir professional field.
