Abstract

METAL METAL is an electroacoustic piece created in 2022. The sound material used in the composition was recorded during the global Covid-19 pandemic. Taking advantage of the mandatory isolation, rhythmic, timbre and textural improvisation sessions were held with aluminum cans. They were recorded with a Zoom H4 digital recorder. The sound files that remained from those explorations and improvisations were the platform for thinking about the composition. The aesthetic sought in this piece of music aims to border the conventions of current sound art, emphasizing expressive and sensory intensity.

Author Biography

Claudio Bazán, National University of Córdoba

Compositor, investigador y docente universitario. Especialista en Audioperceptiva y formación musical auditiva. Realizó estudios de posgrado en educación virtual, en creatividad y en investigación educativa. Actualmente está concluyendo sus estudios en la Maestría en Estéticas Contemporáneas Latinoamericanas de la Universidad Nacional de Avellaneda. Como compositor resultó ganador de premios nacionales e internacionales.
