About the Journal

PREFACIO is a scientific journal whose purpose is to disseminate scientific research on librarianship, libraries and information units, documentation, the library professional, information science (archival science and museology), dissemination of science on the Internet, education, new technologies applied to librarianship and education.

PREFACIO's official language is Spanish; it can also be published in English and Portuguese. All papers, in order to be published, must be evaluated by experts, members of the scientific and editorial committees of the publication and are submitted to peer review with a "blind" system (without the author's knowledge). Only when they receive the approval of the experts are they approved. Each paper includes the date of receipt and acceptance.

Type of contributions received:

PREFACIO accepts unpublished articles and collaborations. Papers should be research results, reflections, proposals or experiences within the thematic areas proposed by the journal.

PREFACIO is a scientific journal that aims to promote the exchange of ideas, research and reflection in the field of librarianship.  Teachers, researchers, students and related professionals have in this electronic journal a tool to promote research and publicize their work, share experiences and establish links with other professionals.

Editorial Policy

PREFACIO is an academic scientific journal that aims to promote the exchange of ideas, reflection and research in the field of librarianship, libraries and information units, documentation, the library professional, information science (archival science and museology), dissemination of science on the Internet, education, new technologies applied to librarianship and education. Teachers, researchers and related professionals have in this electronic journal a tool to promote research, make their work known, share experiences, and establish professional links.

PREFACIO welcomes unpublished articles and contributions, written in Spanish, as well as in English and Portuguese. Papers should be the result of research, reflections, proposals or experiences on the topics covered by the journal.

PREFACIO publishes:

-Research articles on the topics covered by the journal.
-Articles that present reports, studies, essays and experiences, of a theoretical nature that address aspects of special interest and debate and that are within the lines of study covered by the journal.
-Articles on theses
-Reviews
-Interviews 

The publication of the journal and its dissemination is done openly through the Internet, through the Portal of Journals of the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba http://revistas.unc.edu.ar.

Review Policy

PREFACIO accepts original and unpublished articles (and without commitment of publication in other scientific journals) that deal with the subject matter of the publication.

The articles received will follow the following review process:

They will first be assessed by the Editorial Committee who will estimate their relevance for publication in the journal, according to the publication standards.

Articles positively evaluated by the Editorial Committee will be sent to the Academic Scientific Committee for evaluation.

The Academic Scientific Committee will send the evaluator, an expert in the subject matter, following the blind peer review system, and guaranteeing the anonymity of the authorship of the articles throughout the review process.

This blind peer review will determine:

-Acceptance
-Acceptance with reservations
-Non-acceptance

In the case of acceptance with reservations, the article will be returned to the author to make the necessary adjustments according to the reviewer's suggestions. Once this is done, it will be returned to the journal to restart the evaluation process.

When the paper is not accepted, the author may request a second evaluation from the Scientific Committee, which will follow the same evaluation process.

The Revista Científica Académica PREFACIO will send an acknowledgement of receipt of the papers received and, once evaluated, will inform the interested party of their acceptance or, in the case of a negative evaluation, will return them.

Frequency of publication

PREFACIO is published every six months, with annual volume numbering.

Open Access

The acceptance of manuscripts by the journal will imply, in addition to its open access electronic edition under Creative Commons (CC) Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/es/deed.es_AR ), the inclusion and dissemination of the full text through the Institutional Repository: http://rdu.unc.edu.ar/ and the Journals Portal of the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba http://revistas.unc.edu.ar , in addition to all those specialized databases that the editor considers appropriate for indexing, with a view to increasing the visibility of the journal.

Self-Archiving Policy

PREFACIO allows self-archiving by the author(s) of all contents regardless of the stage of the editorial process in which it is found, preprint/postprint (in all versions).
Regarding the preprint and postprint versions (before the layout/production process), if you want to disseminate it, it must be after the article completes its corresponding editorial process in order to maintain its originality. They must also be referenced and use the same Creative Commons that the publication version (edited postprint) will have.
