TENDENCY, GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION AND INEQUALITY IN MORTALITY DUE TO TUBERCULOSIS IN THE PROVINCE OF CHACO DURING THE PERIOD 2000-2016

Objectives: To describe the tendency and geographical distribution of mortality due to tuberculosis (TB) in the province of Chaco, and analyze the life condotions of the population. Method: ecological design. General and specific mortality rates were calculated, in the rough and adjusted to world population; the tendencies of the period were analyzed through segmented regression and inequalities through concentration curve and linear regression. Results: during the period studied there were 978 deaths because of TB, mortality rate resulted in 5.4 for every 100,000 inhabitants. Risk of death was different according to sex, age and department of residence. Mortality decreased -3.6% per year (IC 95% -4.9;-2.2; p<0.05) and concentration index resulted in -0.33. Conclusion: Mortality due to TB is decreasing; however, there are inequalities that must be taken into account when planning Public Health policies.
