Perspectives of payment systems

The agents, instruments and mechanisms involved in everyday transactions have varied considerably over time, according to the evolution of practices, technologies and institutions that determine customs and payment mechanisms. The organization of exchange schemes, and financial systems in general, has become salient topic of contemporary discussion. This paper presents a brief analysis of the matter, focused on procedures to process payments.
