Abstract

The church of the Jesuits in Córdoba was the depository of an important sum of paintings. Few have remained after the pillage that suffered after the expulsion. One of the most significant is a representation of San Ignacio, which is today, along with another San Francisco de Borja, in the residence of the Jesuits. This work is framed within the theological and evangelical project of the Society of Jesus, evidencing the Baroque theatricality represented by the global cuaternidad, in a symbolic and reiterated Jesuit iconography.
