Uso de la Intervención Critical Time Intervention en personas con primer episodio de psicosis

Introducción
Diversos trastornos mentales pueden presentarse clínicamente con un episodio psicótico: esquizofrenia y trastornos relacionados, trastornos bipolares, trastornos por uso de sustancias, entre otros. Dentro de este grupo, la esquizofrenia ha sido una de las más estudiadas en su epidemiología, observando una prevalencia de vida cercana al 1%, con importantes variaciones entre los países [1]. El único estudio de prevalencia poblacional de trastornos mentales realizado en Chile, durante la década de los 90’, encontró una prevalencia de vida para psicosis no afectivas de 1,8% y una prevalencia de últimos 12 meses de 0,7% (estimaciones puntuales) [2]. Con estas cifras, podemos suponer que la situación respecto de la prevalencia de este problema en Chile es similar a lo descrito en el resto del mundo o levemente superior...
