Non Transmissible Diseases (NTD) currently have the highest impact in our country and in the world. These diseases are characterized by the same modifiable risk factors: unsuitable diet, nutritional condition of overweight and obesity, poor physical activity, smoking and high alcohol consumption.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of the modifiable risk factors associated to the life style in both genders students in the Bromatology Superior Technician career at Colegio Nacional de Monserrat in Cordoba in 2018.

We carried out a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study. The study sample included 83 young students (female and male). The paricipants completed a questionnaire regarding anthropometric measures (weight, height and waist circumference), alcohol intake, nutritional habits and physical activity. The data were analyezed InfoStat statistical software.

In the whole sample, 86.75% of the students expressed that they drink alcohol, 8.43% currently smoke, 96.39% do some type of physical activity, 57.83% reported appropriate fruit consumption, 61.45% appropriate vegetable consumption, 60.24% showed a suitable consumption of cereal and legumes. On the other hand, 18.07% showed poor consumption of meet and eggs and 55.42% reported a low consume of milk and dairy products. About the 25% of the sample showed a high consumption of fats and sugar. Sixty seven percent of the students presented a normal nutritional state and 85.54% reported a low cardiovascular threat.

In conclusion, a high prevalence of modifiable risk factors was found, all related to the alcohol intake and nutritional habits. The decrease in toxic habits, the increase of a suitable diet, connected with sustained physical activity would create a positive context to prevent NTD.
