Síndrome de cuidados pós-intensivos em pediatria

Resumo

Introdução: O termo "síndrome de tratamento pós-intensivo" foi aceito para descrever novos impedimentos ou agravamento de deficiências físicas, cognitivas ou mentais que surgem após uma doença crítica e persistem além da hospitalização em cuidados intensivos.

Métodos: foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica na base de dados Medline. O período de pesquisa foi de 2012 a 2020 usando palavras-chave.

Resultados: a evidência emergente sugere que existem morbidades físicas, cognitivas e psiquiátricas significativas e persistentes entre sobreviventes adultos e pediátricos de doenças críticas. Nessa população, também pode afetar a esfera da “saúde social”. As famílias de pacientes hospitalizados com frequência manifestam sintomas psicológicos. Para a prevenção e gestão existem vários instrumentos, o pacote de medidas “ABCDEFGH”, a conformação e organização da equipa de saúde, mobilização precoce e reabilitação física, contributo nutricional, gestão ambiental, diários de unidade de terapia intensiva e apoio entre pares.

Conclusão: A situação do paciente é única e os desafios que enfrentam podem exigir diferentes intervenções, estas devem ser estudadas para aumentar as evidências disponíveis na população pediátrica. Ainda não temos um instrumento específico para monitorar o síndrome em pediatria ou informações sobre sequelas de longa duração em crianças
