Review Process
Article Evaluation
All submitted articles are reviewed by the editorial committee, which assesses thematic relevance and adherence to the editorial standards upheld by the journal. Original manuscripts that meet these standards and are accepted by the Editorial Committee are then evaluated by experienced external reviewers, maintaining author and reviewer anonymity within a double-blind process. If the editorial committee does not accept a submission, the article will not proceed through the evaluation process.
Two (2) external reviewers will conduct an assessment of the article using a specific form, which analyzes multiple variables including: originality of the work, academic relevance, coherence, theoretical-conceptual consistency, clarity, synthesis ability, and other aspects. These evaluations determine a decision on the article, which may be: rejected, accepted with minor revisions, accepted with substantial revisions, or accepted without modifications. If accepted with modifications, the author must make the necessary corrections for the article to be re-evaluated.
The approximate evaluation period is 3 months from the time the editorial committee accepts an article submission. Subsequently, the author has 15 to 20 days to make the corrections suggested by the reviewer, with the option to request one or two extensions of the same duration, subject to review by the editorial committee.
The reception of free-theme articles is ongoing throughout the year, and the call for dossier articles opens in March or April. The publication of the journal's annual issue may vary, but it takes place in November or December; each call specifies the publication date.
Pathos Journal promotes the development of good editorial practices, with a strict anti-plagiarism policy as one of its pillars. By submitting an article, the author consents to it being reviewed by our editorial committee to detect plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Compliance with this regulation is a condition for article acceptance.
