Pierrick Sorin is a multi-faceted artist born in Nantes, France, in 1960. His work involves different audiovisual media, from short films on super 8 to sophisticated installations which are called, recovering a pre-cinematographic tradition, “optic theatres”. Through these, Sorin builds a true “critical laboratory” on art, artists and the place they occupy in social life. In this article we intend to describe the work of a Sorin as a way to reflect on the place of art, theory, and criticism in our society.Downloads
