An experience of professional distance upgrating at Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design

Abstract

Continuous evolution of techniques and technology require permanent professional update. This situation, extensive to all specialties, ensures not only the validity of knowledge but, above all, skills and competencies in a highly competitive labor world. At the same time, the different working conditions, time constraints and the distances between the places of residence of many professionals and the educational institutions, guide the search for new ways of acquiring knowledge. This article relates an experience on a distance professional updating course called "Design and Sizing of Structures in Armed Concrete", given at the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design of the National University of Cordoba.
