This article presents the story of an experience based on the elaboration of the Organic Charter of Colonia Caroya —version for children—, a city located in the north of the province of Córdoba. This project was initiated by the Popular Library "La Bicicleta", located in the same town, which belongs to the Direction of Curricular Development, Training and Institutional Accompaniment of the Ministry of Education of the Province of Córdoba, and is part of the National Commission of Popular Libraries (CONABIP).
From the Pedagogical Library, different specialists of the area (teachers, historians, communicators and artists) and the Popular University were summoned to jointly elaborate this material for children of the city, with the intention that they learn, from the legislation of the city, its history, the cultures that coexist today, and recognize themselves, mainly, as active citizens and participants of the society where they live, from a perspective of rights and gender.
