The audiovisual story presents the collective work of the Red de Orquestas Barriales de Córdoba, a movement-based and self-managed organization made up of 7 musical groups. From a teaching based on critical pedagogies, knowledge is shared through play, free experimentation and peer-to-peer training. As a result, more than 200 children and young people from low-income sectors find in the orchestras a space for the development of their artistic and social potential.
The Network proposes actions that challenge social inequalities, and is based on the conviction that individual and collective artistic production is a vital element of the dignity of peoples. Therefore, while teaching and learning, community is woven, weaving together the efforts of different actors in the realization of rights.
The audiovisual production was made by students of the "Elements of Social Psychology" course of the Film Career of the Faculty of Arts during 2019 as an activity of their course, and it was a significant contribution to give visibility to the Network from the voices of some of its protagonists. Currently, students from the Social Work and Psychology careers of the UNC carry out extension and undergraduate practices in the Network; in this dialogue where cooperation and mutual questioning are possible, the university learns from the territories in their daily struggles and commits itself to nurture them.
