Abstract

The incidence of leaf spot on peanut (Arachis hypogaea L. cv. Runner) caused by a complex of Cercospora arachidicola Hori and Cercosporidium personatum (Berk. & Curt.) Deighton, was evaluated during the 1986/87, 1987/88, and 1988/89 growing seasons. Three non-linear models were used for describing disease progress in time. The models' evaluation criteria include significant estimated parameters, randomness of the residuals, the standard deviation about the regression line, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The fits were better for Exponential and Logistic models in 1986/87 and 1988/89, and for Logistic and Gompertz models in 1987/88.
