Reflexões sobre a identificação e diferenciação de lesões porosas a partir de efeitos tafonômicos em restos arqueológicos de ossos humanos.

Ao longo da vida dos indivíduos, os ossos sofrem alterações, que podem deixar marcas no tecido ósseo que são de interesse para estudos bioarqueológicos. Essas mudanças se manifestam em uma série de traços ósseos que constituem uma potencial linha de evidência para investigar o estilo de vida das populações no passado. No entanto, ao analisar tais alterações, é necessário considerar que existe uma grande variedade de agentes e processos tafonômicos que podem mimetizar características morfológicas produzidas por condições patológicas, bem como de natureza não patológica. São as chamadas alterações pseudopatológicas, e sua origem pode ser decorrente tanto de fatores naturais quanto antrópicos, passados e atuais. Neste trabalho, será investigado um tipo particular de alteração, a porosidade, a fim de estabelecer determinados critérios para reconhecer a natureza desta lesão para contribuir para a sua correta identificação e poder realizar um diagnóstico diferencial.
