Family Functionality: Translation, validity, and reliability of SCORE-15 in the Peruvian general population
Main Article Content
Abstract
SCORE-15 is a self-report instrument consisting of 15 items to measure family functioning. Nevertheless, there is not studies about the psychometric properties in Latin America and even more specifically in Peru. For this reason, the main objective of this study is to examine psychometric properties in the Peruvian version of SCORE-15. For this, the translation of the original version of the SCORE-15 was performed with the double translation method. The results showed that SCORE-15 has a structure of two factors correlated with an adequate internal consistency. Additionally, results indicated factor invariance according to sex and validity based on the relationship with another variable. In conclusion, the Peruvian version of SCORE-15 is a brief tool with robust psychometric properties for the evaluation of family functioning that can be used by researchers or psychotherapists in their clinical practice.
