Abstract

This essay investigates the possibility of developing a unified theory of cultural heterogeneity. One that includes all situations of the heterogeneous field and the cultural differences, from cultural clash to mestizaje (miscegenation); as well as migrations, translations, transculturations and other notions in between. Also, the operating subjects and motifs of such situations and dynamics. In this endeavor, it observes what was advanced by Antonio Cornejo Polar, what has been somehow developed after his death in 1966, and what we consider still pending tasks.
