Abstract

The Horco Molle Experimental Reserve (REHM), of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Miguel Lillo Institute of National University of Tucumán, has a consolidated program of environmental education on topics related to the protection and conservation of endangered species and ecosystems. The program of activities includes educational workshops directed to students of Basic and Higher Secondary School. These workshops promote an existential experience for the students, and encourage them to get close to nature. In these workshops, the students carry out practical activities related to the identification of native trees, techniques of greenhouse and collection, and manipulation of botanical material. Through these activities, the REHM wants to generate a sense of belonging as regards the native fl ora, under the motto ?What you don?t love or what you don?t know cannot be preserved? .
