Wikidata for Teaching Biology: Coloration in Felines

Main Article Content

Abstract

In this proposal we present Wikidata, an associated project of Wikipedia, an open, collaborative and polyglot tool, which makes it innovative and interesting for managing biological data in silico. We invite you to use this web platform as a didactic resource for learning biology. In this essay we will focus on the biology of color in felines, creating statements made up of properties and elements that allow us to produce and visualize information related to different characteristics of organisms, such as coloration, sex, species, color origin, shades and color hues pattern, which facilitates students to develop biological, computational and informational skills in a dynamic and entertaining context.
