Integralidad y ddhh en km 16. Perceptions and uses of water around the Manga Stream: an experience built with Liceo 25 and UTU

This article presents reflections on a human rights outreach project called: Inhabiting kilometer 16: perceptions and uses of water in the Manga Creek basin, developed by a team made up of university students from the University of the Republic, Uruguay, and secondary school students and teachers6 in a neighborhood in the northeast of Montevideo. Based on a process of dialogic interactions, access to drinking water, sanitation and living in a healthy environment in an area of the Montevideo periphery known as "Kilometer 16", located on National Route 8, was addressed. Through the dialogue of knowledge and an interdisciplinary approach to the subject, the aim was to learn about the uses of water by the population, their perceptions and relationships with surface water, as well as to co-construct strategies to improve water quality for daily, domestic and/or community uses through appropriate filtering technologies.
