Participatory intervention strategy to reduce psychosocial risks at workplace

Objective: The purpose of this article is to describe the implementation of a participatory intervention strategy to reduce psychosocial risks at work, given the lack of studies that specify the context, phases, stages and techniques used. Methods: The strategy was implemented in two public schools in three phases: awareness raising, psychosocial risk assessment and participatory intervention. The intervention phase uses different group techniques and is executed in three stages: shared diagnosis, co-creation of solutions and prioritization of measures. Results: Most workers answered the assessment instrument, but participation in the intervention was dissimilar, also observing differences in the amount and quality of the planned actions. Conclusions: The results reflect the importance of executing an awareness raising phase in these interventions and suggest the relevance of management commitment, although they may also be related with the number of employees in each organization
